My Students

My students are a group of very active 5 and 6-year-old students. There are 19 big personalities within our four classroom walls and that always makes for a fun day in Mrs. Lusano's class! Our class uses inquiry-based learning to explore the world around us. These kindergartners enjoy hands-on learning and using a variety of tools throughout the course of their learning experiences.

My students are just entering into the International Baccalaureate programme where they are learning to be inquirers, communicators, and thinkers to name a few.

My students are special because they are all very different from one another, yet they accept each other and make a great team. Each has something important and unique to add to our group, which makes for a lot of fun and great learning each and every day.

My Project

Differentiation in a classroom is always a challenge. However, adding technology to the classroom is one way to make this happen and, in turn, allows me to better meet the needs of my students. The iPads we are requesting will be used during small-group instruction. Right now, we only have three iPads, so your donations will allow us to serve a full group of students during our literacy and math centers. Therefore, the iPads will allow more of my students to practice things like sight words or addition through games and other fun apps.

I will be able to work with my students that are struggling as well as challenge my more advanced learners.

Most of my students are already very familiar with tablets, so the iPads are second nature to them. They just don't realize how we can use them to help us learn and practice important kindergarten skills right in our very own classroom. I can't wait to show them!
