My Students

I teach six and seven-year-olds who love to learn. These students thrive with technology. They are growing up in an era of great technological developments. Although they are the same age and learning in the same classroom, their needs are different. Some of my students love to learn with hands-on activities, while others learn from apps and activities on the computer or iPad.

We often talk about how everyone is different and how we each deserve to have what we need in order to be successful.

My students try their best to create a classroom community of learning and caring as we strive for success.

My Project

The materials I am requesting already have a job to do. In other words, the students will put them right to use. We will use the iPads daily in our reading centers. The students will log in to reading apps to read books on their level. They will also listen to books being read, which increases fluency awareness as they listen to how a book should be read.

The iPads will be used multiple times a day.

We will also use them during math interventions. I can differentiate my students' math practice with use of the iPads. Students who need more practice, can review content. Students who need more of a challenge, can practice more rigorous content.

The benefit from iPads in the classroom is great. The students are drawn to technology and will be highly motivated by an additional way to learn and practice concepts in the classroom.
