My students need iPad minis, cases, and protectors so that they will be able to independently practice the skills they are learning when they work individually with a teacher.
I have fifteen students with special needs in first, second, and third grades. The students in my classroom are have either intellectually disabilities, autism, or multiple disabilities.
Due to their disabilities, my students struggle when learning reading, writing and math skills.
They are learning to write letters, identify colors and shapes, count items and reading basic words. We work with our students one on one when learning a new skill. Once they are worked with a teacher they need to practice the skills; however, they are unable to independently practice these skills.
My Project
My students are not able to make corrections to their responses on their own. They need to be told if there responses are correct or not. The iPad mini's will provide my students with the ability to receive this feedback.
In my classroom I use apps where my students can practice tracing letters or identify colors, shapes, letters and numbers.
If they get it wrong, the app lets them know it immediately and they are able to make corrections. If they get it correct they are able to receive immediate praise. Having this ability will be an invaluable resource in my class.
