Mrs. Corbitt from Washington DC is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need iPad minis so that they can have access to online programs that can meet their individual learning goals.

I have twenty first graders that are high-energy, inquisitive, and have a great enthusiasm for learning! They are reading below grade level in reading and math instruction. They love using the computers, and working together cooperatively. They are learning to be team leaders, and are a joy to work with!
Three receive Special Education services and have an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
One is ELL or an English Language Learner. They attend a neighborhood school and receive free and reduced lunch.
Technology help to spark students creativity and learning. Knowing this, and considering that my students are on so many different levels academically, I realized that the iPad mini was just what I needed to sparking my first-grade students' learning.
Having iPads in the classroom will allow my students to access educationally rich and differentiated sites such Lexia, ST Math, iReady, BrainPop, Starfall, PBSKids, and countless high-quality online resources that will allow my students to increase their reading fluency, comprehension, math skills, and knowledge of science and social studies skills. My goal is to increase 100% of my student's reading and math levels by infusing more technology in my classroom.
As a veteran teacher, I know how important it is to engage in structured but differentiated activities that will help them increase their levels. The iPads will help me to do so. The headphones will allow students to focus, and keep the noise level in the classroom conducive for all learners. It will also give students easy access to more educational songs, chants, and visuals which will enhance their learning.
