I have a wonderful group of eight first through third grade students who love school and they come in every morning eager to learn. My goal for them is to increase their eagerness to learn and encourage them to never lose their drive. All of my students struggle with reading and math. Therefore for them to feel successful and independent, I need to provide them with the tools and strategies to be successful learners.
I teach a first through third grade self-contained special needs class for students with learning disabilities at a Title I school in Florence, SC.
All of my students have a specific learning disability and are significantly below their grade level peers. My students come from various backgrounds and environments and many of them do not have the essentials that they need.
My Project
Last year my students used our class Osmo materials on our school iPads, but this year we will no longer have regular access to these iPads. My students LOVE these engaging activities that cover reading, math and coding. These activities created new and exciting ways to incorporate technology into our classroom.
Osmo is a unique educational gaming accessory used for hands on activities to connect technology and academics in the classroom.
By providing our classroom with an iPad, we will be able to continue learning and growing with the use of Osmo, which is something we used on a daily basis last year and would love to do again for the 2018-2019 school year.
