My Students

I am a second grade teacher to 22 motivated, enthusiastic learners!

My students love to learn and become very motivated with hands on learning. My school is in a low socioeconomic area and all of my students are on free lunch. My second graders are so excited to learn and to come to school each day, but a lot don't have the "luxuries" that most kids do at home or the parent support. My classroom is full of eager learners who find value in reading and learning. They face daily life challenges at home, so I want to provide the best possible learning experience for them here at school! They come to school happy and ready to learn each and every day. Reading is the key to success for our students and we want to instill that love of learning in every way possible. My students love to read and write! They love to read, write, tell and listen to stories daily. My amazing second graders have gigantic imaginations and huge goals for their lives.

My Project

If we had this iPad Mini and headphones my students would have the opportunity to work on so many areas of learning including writing, science, reading, and math. They would provide the students with another outlet to practice these skills in a small group or individual setting. iPad minis would give my students opportunities they don't have currently in the classroom. I would use the iPad to differentiate instruction, meet each student’s needs, and provide them with an opportunity and experience they may not get outside of the classroom. The iPad mini would improve student access to technology and improve the technology to student ratio, meaning they will each have more time with hands on learning. And, an iPad will teach my kids 21st century skills.

This donation would improve our classroom because it would aid in the individual learning of each student and help create an even more engaging environment.

This iPad would enhance all of our lessons and daily learning. My students would not only enjoy learning those crucial things like their sight words and math facts in a fun way, but they will be acquiring the ability to use current technology and build the foundation for their future success in school.
