This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students in my classroom are eager to learn, passionate, and hard-working. They are an extension of my family. They inspire me every single day. I want to encourage them to try their best, learn from their mistakes and start to see their full potential.

Financial literacy is an important life skill to learn from a very young age, even fifth graders can start planning for their futures.

Having an iPad will open a whole new digital word for my students and help them access many important online tools, software, and resources that relate to financial literacy.

My Project

My students love to share new information, they agree that technology is the best tool for finding new relevant information and sharing it with others.

Having an iPad would allow us to utilize the vast variety of games, tools, and resources to help them learn how to manage their money.

Osmo Pizza is a fantastic visual reality game that students can play on the iPad. By setting up their very own pizza shop, students are learning about sticking to a budget, loans, interest, and profits. Students can access this game via an iPad and work individually or in small groups.

Saving Spree is an app in which students learn about spending, earning, and saucing money. This app would allow my students to learn about short-term and long-term savings, charitable giving, and invest imagine money into different types of investments to see how they pay off (or don't pay off).

These are just two examples of the apps that students can use to help them learn about the importance of saving money, the skill of delayed gratification!
