This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This school year, we are focusing on assessment and data. We are assessing students at least three times throughout the school year to monitor their GROWTH, instead of just whether they are at grade level or not. Some assessments require the teacher to use an iPad for certain applications or websites.

Help me ensure I have the appropriate materials needed to assess and monitor my student's growth appropriately.

An iPad will ensure that I am able to access certain apps and websites so that I can collect data on my students and drive my instruction based on their needs.

This iPad will be used as my main interface when having conferences and professional development throughout the year as I do one-on-one mentor meetings and work in small groups with students across grades 6-8. This device will allow for seamless demonstrations, logging into systems for interventions, and note-taking on all sessions to feed into the school’s database. Moving into a paperless environment requires digital devices with the compatibility to stream information without the need to reenter data captured during meetings and small groups with students in all sessions.
