This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help my students access 21st century materials! My students are questioning the relevance of our curricula and I want to help them get more hands-on opportunities to see the importance of Algebra and Geometry in life.

My students are alternative education students who, in many cases, never saw their potential become a reality.

With our program's model, students improve their behavior so they are fully able to learn the material they are being taught. They enjoy working with technology and benefit from the resources we can access.

My Project

My students are so excited when we get the chance to use technology, but it isn't often enough. I'd like to have an iPad and case in class to provide them with the opportunity to get to see more applications of the skills we are learning. There are so many opportunities to use pre-designed manipulatives, but we don't have the means to share it. An iPad would give my students that opportunity.

My students have very high aspirations.

In order for them to access the less tangible concepts of Algebra and Geometry, I want to use more resources from the web to help them make sense. My students never cease to amaze me with the tenacity and grit in the face of obstacles, and I expect this resource to only make them better mathematicians. Whether they practice sample problems, remediate skills that are lacking, or manipulate a polygon to learn its properties, my students thrive.
