My Students

The students in our ABA strand are primarily children diagnosed with autism. We have 8 classrooms serving students from pre-K (age 3) to 8th grade. The teachers in these classrooms focus on everything from academics to self-help skills like washing hands.

Our students are amazing individuals who work every day to overcome differences in learning styles, communication, and socialization.

They are curious, energetic, and passionate about all sorts of interests and hobbies. They come to school each day ready to learn and our teachers work tirelessly to make that happen!

My Project

Technology is a huge piece of helping our students in the ABA strand succeed. Our students use iPads for all different reasons throughout their school day. Some use applications that allow them to communicate to their classmates or educators. Other students use educational applications that help them learn math, science, and English language arts in a way that is engaging and accessible. Some students use them to learn independent leisure activities like listening to music, watching videos, or playing games. These fun activities can also be used as rewards to help motivate our students to do their best in school!
