Help me give my students and my classroom an iPad and Apple Pencil for an opportunity to grow in academics, behavior, social emotional skills, and the use of technology.

My Students

I am the luckiest. I get to work with students from kindergarten through 3rd grade with all ability levels. I work in a resource classroom, and my students are the kindest and most patient kiddos I have ever worked with. In my classroom, my students have different disabilities that affect them academically, social-emotionally, and behaviorally. We learn math, reading, writing, and social skills, and we learn how to engage in appropriate behaviors.

My students do not let their attitudes fade even though sometimes school is hard.

They always come in with a smile every day and work their little hearts out. I am sure I learn more from them than they do from me.

My Project

I would like to add an iPad and Apple Pencil to my classroom. These items would be used to support student academic growth and simplify data collection and paperwork for me as a teacher.

Special Education is known for having a lot of paperwork.

Our district has recently gone to an online Individual Education Plan program. This iPad will help me in presenting data and paperwork to parents while still keeping it personable. It also will allow me to make changes as we meet to ensure that students are getting the best plan in place to help them be successful.

This iPad will help me, and it will be another tool to help my students. There are so many educational apps that my students can utilize to help bridge the gap and progress in the skills they are behind in. The Apple Pencil will help improve their handwriting skills. My students also often struggle with motivation, and giving them the opportunity to work for using the iPad will increase their participation and willingness to work and complete tasks that are often hard for them.
