My Project

I am an occupational therapist who works in many different special education classroom with students at all different ability levels. Earlier this school year, I was able to obtain an iPad for working in one particular classroom and I watched as the students flourished and learned new skills. I am requesting another iPad as I'd love to watch another group of students make similar gains. The classroom of students I'd like to support are primarily non-verbal and highly motivated by technology and screens. They have access to laptops but not an iPad.

Having access to an iPad will help these students by increasing their engagement in learning activities, provide a communication tool, as well as foster social skills.

The iPad will allow for customization for each individual student, provide innate reinforcement of new skills, and be portable for use in different environments. This tool would be invaluable for their learning.
