I work with cognitively disabled middle school students in an under-resourced, inner-city school, and for many of them, the classroom is where they spend most of their structured day. Your support has made a meaningful difference in how that time feels for them.\r\n\r\nWith the new supplies, we are able to focus on learning without constant interruptions. Something as simple as having enough pencils for everyone has allowed students to participate more confidently and independently in daily activities. The sensory tools have been especially impactful—students use them throughout the day to regulate emotions, stay focused, and engage more fully in lessons. I've already seen students who typically struggle with attention remain calm and present during instruction.\r\n\r\nThe addition of a classroom rug has transformed how we come together as a community. We now have a comfortable, safe space for circle time, where we practice communication, social skills, and emotional expression. Instead of sitting on cold, hard floors, students can gather in a way that feels supportive and inclusive. This has already strengthened our sense of connection and belonging.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue using these resources to build structured routines that support both academic and social-emotional growth. We are working on group activities, collaborative storytelling, and daily check-ins during circle time to help students develop communication and self-regulation skills. These tools are not just supplies—they are the foundation for creating a classroom environment where students feel valued, cared for, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create a space where every student is seen, supported, and set up for success. Because of your support, our students now have the tools they need—black chiseled dry erase markers, green dry erase markers, and high-quality dry erase erasers—to engage in mathematics in a way that is collaborative, visible, and joyful. Your donation may appear simple on the surface, yet its impact reaches far beyond supplies; it has transformed how students think, communicate, and learn together.\r\n\r\nWith these materials, students work in groups of three at non-permanent vertical white boards, turning walls into shared thinking spaces. These boards invite students to stand shoulder to shoulder, test ideas in real time, and explain their reasoning aloud. Math is no longer a quiet, solitary task completed on paper and hidden away. Instead, it becomes an active conversation—one where every student has a voice, a marker in hand, and the confidence to contribute.\r\n\r\nOne of the most powerful gifts these white boards provide is permission to make mistakes. Because nothing written is permanent, students are far more willing to take intellectual risks. They revise, erase, redraw, and try again without fear. Errors become stepping stones rather than setbacks, and students quickly learn that productive struggle is not only acceptable, but essential to deep mathematical understanding.
