Investigating Greenhouse Gases

My students need 40 digital thermometers for investigating greenhouse gases and heat and radiation differences of various earth materials.

My Students

The best way to learn science is by doing science. Inquiry based science labs are more enjoyable for students if they have the proper lab equipment.

My students are eager to understand the world around them.

They come from a verity of backgrounds and experiences. Our middle school currently serves 965 students in grades seven, eight and nine. The school focuses on being academically excellent, socially equitable and developmentally responsive.

My Project

I am requesting digital thermometers that measure in both Fahrenheit and Celsius which will be used in multiple inquiry based science labs. For each of the labs students will use scientific models to collect temperatures and investigate a verity of Earth Science concepts including greenhouse gases and heat and radiation differences of various earth materials.

Student will discover, first hand, the role greenhouse gases play in regulating Earth’s temperatures through the greenhouse effect.

Student will become aware that what we put in the atmosphere today will effect generations to come. Students will learn of their responsibility to ensure the quality of life of future generations.
