My students need these lab investigations: How do Cells Look and Function, Cell Structure and Function, and Cell Structure so they can have a better understanding of how the cell works.

My Students
My students are not accessing science very well, and I believe it is essential for them to know how science is important to their lives. My students need to be shown that science is fun and interesting and is valuable to their understanding of life.
My school is a neighborhood school.
My students receive free lunch, and the population at my school is 98% African American. My students have not been exposed to an enriched curriculum; they are reluctant to open their hearts and minds to education. My students do not look at education as something that is important, so I have to make it interesting and appealing to them.
My Project
By receiving help from DonorsChoose I can let my students know there are corporations and people who care about their educational journey and want them to have access to a curriculum that does not only deal with just a book, but projects that they can build with their hands and use their creativity skills that have not yet been activated.
I want my students to learn all the different parts of the cell with patterns, colors, and important descriptions to coincide with the actual parts. My students will learn what the cell is like, how the cell repairs itself, how it functions, and how the cell is used in plants and animals.
My students will also learn that the cell is like the body and is made up of organelles that are similar to the organs in the body. The resources I am requesting include these lab investigations: How do Cells Look and Function, Cell Structure and Function, and Cell Structure.
The more students know about science, the better they will make decisions on how to approach their lives.
All students are scientists everyday, they just need to be introduced to it in a fun and interesting way. Having the supplies and resources in the classroom is the first step in helping my students to become lifelong learners.
