My school is a neighborhood school. My students receive free lunch, and the population at my school is 98% African American. My students have not been exposed to an enriched curriculum in science; they are reluctant to open their hearts and minds to a science education. My students do not look at a science education as something that is important, so I have to make it interesting and appealing to them; so they can be life-long learners in the subject of science.
