Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love all 41 of my 2nd grade students. No two children look exactly the same, act the same or learn the same way. They are all unique and different in their own way. I teach a multicultural classroom. Some of my students are ELL learners , English is not their sole language or first language.I also teach at a Title I school which means my school serves a population with the majority of students receiving free and reduced lunch.

Since I have such a diverse classroom, I believe students should have images, literacy and opportunities to understand their differences and celebrate what makes them each unique and special.

The crayons I am asking for represents all skin tones and will allow students to create images that represent all the skin tones in their community. The books I am requesting will give my 2nd graders the opportunity to read and research about great inventors, mathematicians and scientist for both boys and girls. .All students need representations of someone who looks like them and have achieved great success. Please consider investing in supporting diversity and appreciating differences through literacy, representation and art supplies. I appreciate your time and for considering our project.
