Mrs. B. Awesome! from TX is requesting reading nooks, desks & storage through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students equitable and safe learning spaces by donating storage organizers to organize their books, fairy lights to create a calming class environment with softer light, and dry erase pocket sleeves to use less paper.

My students mean the absolute most to me. I work hard to create a learning space where all feel welcome to learn, make mistakes, and grow socially, emotionally, and academically. This is not easy for all students. The materials I am asking for will allow me to create a safe learning environment by organizing materials, softening fluorescent lights and creating opportunities for students to practice new skills to mastery.
In creating a learning environment, it is necessary to look at all factors that impact the development of students.
For example, the physical, intellectual, and emotional aspects of the environment must be considered. The storage cubes will be used to organize tools, materials, so that students are able to quickly locate the resources needed during their independent learning time for research, stem and mathematics. The lights will help soften the atmosphere in the room to create a calming effect. The dry erase pockets will help student practice their skills repeatedly if needed while allowing me to save a valuable resource (paper) since I have two rotations of students.
The impact these materials will have on my classroom will be the lowered affective filter so that all students feel safe to move around the classroom, practice without fear of mistakes and being able to locate information, resources to create student centered, independent learners.
