My Students

I am requesting supplies for students currently in my 6th-grade class. There are 88, 6th graders, who range in age from 11 to and 12-year-olds, at a charter school. They are very energetic and enjoy learning every day. Our school is 1:1 iPads. My students are mostly in class with a few virtual for this school year.

My students love to participate in STEM and solve real-world problems by developing structures and gadgets.

They are curious, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge. I enjoy seeing them grow academically and become more independent every day through research and project development. They love to solve problems by talking to each other and to me. My joy comes when they realize that even though tasks are sometimes hard if they keep at it they will be successful.

My Project

By using the consumable items in this project students will be able to build and create inventive designs. They will use popsicle sticks to build structures or to frame a creation made out of paper. The WiKi Sticks will be new to my class but they will be used to create different items that would explain a concept of a literature book that we will read in class.

Allowing students to express themselves through creative means makes it possible for them to explain more about the content that we are learning.
