This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager to learn and willing to try, but they have the odds stacked against them to succeed. Your generous support can help my students be successful.

I am a fourth-grade teacher in a low-income urban area in New Jersey and more than 90% of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

My students cannot afford to purchase the necessary supplies for the classroom. I have general education students, special education students, as well as students learning the English Language in my classroom.

Our school is in an urban area. Many of my students are reading at 2-3 grade levels below 4th grade. Despite these challenges, the climate of our school is nurturing and sets high expectations for all students.

My Project

The Ozobots have officially invaded our classroom. These are one inch tall robots that are a great way to get my students interested in coding. All I need is an Ozobot and markers. I was amazed at how easy it was to introduce coding to my students and they get to use their favorite coloring tools.

Ozobots can be used to integrate technology and art into my fourth grade classroom curriculum.

I already have many ideas and projects planned for my students and can integrate the Ozobots and accessories into our technology center. They would be so entertaining to watch my students draw shapes with their Ozobots and have it follow their lines. I can see my students creating maps and coding the robots to follow their paths.
