Intro to Coding with LEGO WeDo 2.0

My students need a LEGO WeDo 2.0 core set. This will help to introduce coding and robotics to the students.

My Students

The students at my school come to school to learn, make new friends, and to feel safe. They are excited to learn, both from books and technology. The students are from low to very low-income families. Most of the students at my school have parents who struggled with learning when they were in school. The parents don't want their children to struggle like they did. Parents, students, and staff are working hard to make sure that all of the students get the best education possible.

My school is a high poverty school that is doing what we can to bridge the gap in learning.

The teachers come to work each day to help build up each and every student who walks into our rooms. The students are the reason we do our jobs each and every day.

My Project

By receiving the LEGO WeDo 2.0 set my students will be able to get an understanding of coding and robotics in a fun and interesting manner.

Coding is a skill that will be required in my district for students to learn next year.

I would really like to have the LEGO WeDo 2.0 set at the beginning of the year so that my students can get an early start on their coding skill requirement.

Once they have mastered the WeDo 2.0 coding skills, then they will move on to the LEGO Mindstorm system. This will also help to encourage some students to go into robotics as a career.
