My students need an iPad so that they can work on intervention programs in math and reading.

My school is a K-8 Elementary School and is located in West Philadelphia. We are a 100% free and reduced priced lunch school. We are very underfunded and have very limited supplies. My students come from many different cultural backgrounds and enjoy sharing about their culture with the class.
We are always looking for new ways to engage in learning.
My students love to learn and enjoy using any kind of technology. In my classroom we do blended learning which allows me to work with students in small groups and focus on what each group is struggling with and challenge those students who are not struggling. While I work with each groups the students at their seats are working on several things; work on the topic at hand, enrichment of previous skills, and taking concepts to the next level.
Many of my students are 1-2 grade levels below in math and/or reading. Our district has provided us with several digital interventions that have proven to eliminate the significant achievement gap that many students face. Unfortunately, having 32 students in each class and very few Chromebooks and iPads to use students are only able to utilize 30-45 minutes per week on these wonderful programs.
By donating to our project you will have a hand in helping these students get to the level of academic success that they should be at with a new iPad.
These programs are tailored to fit the needs of each individual child. When my students are on these intervention programs and they master a skill that they have struggled with for years they are so excited. As they work on these programs you can hear them cheering each time the get an answer right. Everyday they beg me to let them on even if it is not their scheduled day. Some students even ask if they can come at lunch or after school to work on a program. Any donation big or small will help have a positive impact on my students' success!
