With a new school year came a new teaching position. This year, I have entered into a new role as a Title I teacher where I get to work with some amazing children in multiple grade levels. My students, who range from Kindergarten to 2nd grade, tend to struggle with skills needed to be successful in their education. They work hard but need extra assistance in understanding or mastering skills. In an effort to meet my students’ needs, I provide my students with small group instruction to intensively target areas of weakness in reading, phonics, and mathematics.
With my students having academic struggles, I am always trying to find different methods to present concepts.
Having access to a variety of hands-on and multisensory resources is very beneficial in providing my students with the differentiated instruction they need. I am so excited about the resources and supplies that I have picked out for this project. To aid my students in their alphabet and word-building lessons, I have chosen a table-top pocket chart, alphabet letter tiles, and word-building mats that will allow them to manipulate the sounds they hear. The alphabet tiles and mats would be much appreciated and would allow all of my students to have their own materials during our intervention time. Finally, I requested a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to purchase some learning activities to print and laminate for my students. I know my students will love to use these materials in their learning activities. Thank you so much for your support.
