Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach kindhearted, enthusiastic, curious, and creative 6th graders. I teach in a Title 1 Public Middle School in California. All of my students receive free lunch and are considered high poverty. Having the materials to create interactive notebooks in my classroom will teach my students to organize and synthesize their learning. We need your help. Cesar Chavez once said, " You're never strong enough that you don't need help." Please help my students.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will help them maintain interactive notebooks, helping them become organized and be able to synthesize information in a creative, interactive way. Instead of being in the traditional linear, handwritten format, notes will be colorful and spread across the pages. This will include drawings, diagrams, and 3-D elements to make the material understandable, relatable, and relevant. Interactive notebooks will help my students become active, engaged learners while also allowing me to differentiate learning for different levels and needs. I've included things such as sharpener, markers, glue, and paper, all of which are necessary for a student's success any classroom.
