My Students

In our classroom we have a simple routine, I do, we do, you do. The goal is to build student confidence by the end of each lesson. By the end of the year I want students to see that they have the ability to achieve anything.

My students are ninth and tenth graders, all from different backgrounds.

53.7% of the students are on free or reduced lunch. Most of the students will be first generation college students and some will be first generation high school graduates. The school has about a 67% graduation rate. The students have been given many trials during their lives, and some are missing people who believe and care for them.

My Project

Using the Promethean Interactive Whiteboard, I will add more to the you try portion of our routine, students will be able to share their work with the whole class. This also allows students the experience of working with small and large groups. I will also be able to record my lessons, which will allow students that miss class or need more direction access to our class lessons.

By having the Promethean Interactive Whiteboard students will be able to build their confidence with their peers.

As they practice, they form an environment of learning where students feel that helping each other learn math is a group effort that builds individual confidence.
