My Students
My classes are a lively bunch of eighth graders living on the Big Island Hawaii. The students come from a diverse background all over the Pacific, Asia and US mainland. Most come from low income households with limited ability to purchase school supplies.
My students are ohana (family) oriented individuals that love working in groups and interacting with one another through technology.
They love opportunities to engage in their learning beyond typical direct instruction. My students strive to do their best with what is (or is not) provided by both the school and at home. I am very proud and honored to be their teacher.
My Project
Students will use the variety of supplies to create their interactive math notebook. Their math notebook will be create alongside and with the help of their peers.
The idea is that each student will have an 8th grade math notebook filled with everything they are learning or have already learned this year!
It will be a resource for them this year and in the future!
Chairs will be used by both students and teachers when it is their turn to present work and examples to the class.
I would just like a class where we have all the supplies kids need to be successful.
