Interactive Learning Through Touch!
My students need an iPod touch digital player to keep them engaged in reading and math activities while I am working with other students.
First graders love reading or having books read to them to learn about the world around them. What better way to engage and provide them with infinite learning opportunities then a computer perfect for little fingers. That's right, an iPod Touch!
My students are dependents of active duty military personnel.
Many of them have at least one parent currently deployed overseas, and most have moved frequently throughout their short lives. Having a parent deployed leads to a lot of distractions in my classroom, so I strive to provide my students with fun, engaging learning at every turn.
An iPod Touch is perfect for little hands and minds. There are thousands of applications for the iPod which means an iPod Touch in my classroom will literally open up the world to my students. Want to teach a first grader about grammar? There's an app for that. Want to teach a first grader about tempo and rhythm? There's an app for that too. Want to provide children's eBooks? Well, there's an app for that too. Even better an app on the iPod Touch might be just the practice or remediation that a struggling first grader might need or the necessary enrichment for a student wanting more. The possibilities are endless.
There is no limit to the possibilities an iPod Touch would give to our room.
My students are growing up in a media driven world and often are not provided with opportunities to keep up with it. If we give them access to new technology, they come up with ways to use it they I may have never thought of.
