My students need three Chromebooks in our classroom in order to reinforce research skills that will support our math, science and social studies curriculum.
My diverse learners live in a rural area of northwest Pennsylvania. Our school includes a large number of students who receive free lunches and whose families have economic hardships due to major manufacturing employers leaving our area.
I’m fortunate to have a great group of kids..."My kids."
Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds and have an equally wide range of learning abilities. This means I have the opportunity to help motivated learners fly even further and encourage those who struggle by offering the support and scaffolding they need.
My Project
Having three Chromebooks available to my third graders will give them the opportunity to expand their learning experiences beyond our classroom. Quick access to technology allows us to take advantage of "teachable moments," which I strongly believe are when students learn best!
Chromebook accessibility in my classroom will encourage student-directed learning.
My kiddos will be able to research various social studies topics, reinforce reading strategies and play educational games as rewards.
Our math curriculum offers many online activities, which we have not been able to access in the past. In addition, we will initiate Google Classroom for many of our subjects.
