This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school, where 95% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch. On top of our high poverty rate, 85% of our students are English Language Learners. My school is located in the heart of the neighborhood. We are known as a community school, because our doors are always open to our families. Most of our parents rely on us and their children to help them communicate, survive, and thrive.

I love having the opportunity to build relationships with my students and their families and watch them grow.

My Project

Many of us live in a world where we have access to constant and changing technology that is at the tip of our fingers. My students do not often have these opportunities or experiences unless I provide them myself. With this software program, my students will be able to use digital technology to make learning fun! iPads are used with the Osmo technology to show words and math problems and then students use the physical letters and number that come in the kits to spell words, match letters, sequence numbers, and solve math problems. The Osmo software teams up with the iPads to allow students a guided activity where they get immediate feedback.
