Interactive Distance Learning Technology

I need an iPad for teachers to use to run our virtual learning sessions and interactive lessons with my students during distance learning.

My Students

Our small class is a group of 4-9 year-old learners from a rural mountain community in northern California. When we are in class together, our students learn and cooperate with their classmates across grade levels and enjoy collaboration and hands-on projects. Our school district is doing distance learning and we have had many challenges connecting with each other online. We recently received iPads for our students, and we are excited to use them for our Zoom sessions and independent learning. In order to make the most of our technology, please help us get another iPad so we can keep one in the classroom to connect with students through the same operating system and use real-time interactive lessons with the apple pencil. We discovered that only apple products work with screen mirroring through Zoom, and if the teachers have access to an iPad they will be able to edit and add to documents in real-time with students during Zoom lessons.

My Project

This semester I have been learning how to better use technology as an educational tool for my students. Now that they each have an iPad to help them connect to the internet at home, we would like an iPad to use in the classroom during our Zoom sessions. It would allow us to mirror our screen and edit/add notes and comments to students' online reading, writing, and math projects synchronously. I had the opportunity to observe another teacher using these strategies and I was impressed by how much it helped students' understanding and helped the teacher keep track of learning progress each session.
