I am a 5th grade teacher to some of the most amazing kids you will ever meet. I live and work in our small town. Many of my students come from low-income homes. I am doing the best I can to teach them remotely. For many of our students and myself, internet access is spotty, and devices are in short supply. We communicate a lot on our phones and use a mixture of online and paper assignments.
My students deserve the best.
They always go above and beyond, exceeding my expectations on a regular basis. They inspire me even more now with their desire to learn while trying to adapt to a new way of life.
The gift cards to Teachers Pay Teachers will allow me to purchase interactive lessons that will help grab my students attention. The activities my students enjoy most are digital escape rooms and math mystery pictures. I am currently making lessons that have both of these components, but it is a long process and I am new at it.
I would like to supplement what I am doing along with other teachers' great digital activities to help engage my students during remote learning.
This will encourage math talk and team work while reinforcing skills they have been taught or are being taught. Giving my students activities they enjoy makes this new way of learning a little easier.
