Help me give my students access to exciting technology that they may never experience outside the classroom!

I have been teaching in Philadelphia for close to twenty-four years. For the last sixteen years, I have been a computer specialist, which means I see every one of my five hundred students in my computer lab once a week. My inner-city school is full of a beautiful, challenging, diverse group of eager minds! I try and engage my students daily and have created a welcoming, nurturing and exciting place to learn! My students have learned to accept that as a public school, we just can't afford certain things; however, we make no excuses and always give one hundred percent.
My students are so curious about technology.
They ask me ways to incorporate it everyday whether it's making a birthday card for their parent or asking me about 3D Printing! I love their enthusiasm and want to help them learn as much as possible!
As a teacher for over twenty-four years, I have learned firsthand that students don't all learn the same way. Integrating technology into the classroom is an effective way to connect with students of all learning styles. With technology surrounding their everyday lives, I strive to give them the best opportunities to display their knowledge in many different ways.
When a student creates something on the computer and can hold it in their hands, it lets them know that what they learned and created is important.
We create many projects in our classroom; however, having just a regular printer limits their creativity. A 3D printer would give them such a feeling of success! I have many lessons where the 3D printer would be an incredible way to elaborate on learning and engage their interest! It will give them something to call their own.
My students also deal with a great amount of emotions, loss, trauma and great moments. What better way to validate their feelings then to have a laser engraver for them to create works of art that can last a lifetime! Laser engravers can create works of art on wood. What a sturdy, tangible way for our students to share their pride in their work!
I want my students to not only learn how to use technology everyday, but learn in a fun, exciting, interactive way.
