Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located in northern San Diego County. Within our school, approximately 70% of students are socioeconomically disadvantaged and over 60% of our students are English Language Learners (ELLs).
My fourth grade students are motivated, curious, and eager to learn!
Our school understands the importance of integrating a variety of subjects into our education. This year, our school will be focused on integrating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) into our lessons. Our students love STEM and I believe that they deserve a variety of opportunities, as well as access to materials!
My Project
Our students love to explore science and engineering. Snap Circuits will give students an opportunity to learn about electricity through educational play. Students will be able to work together to build a variety of different projects through the use of these Snap Circuits. Students will have an opportunity to use the Snap Circuits in small groups where they can collaborate and utilize their individual talents and gifts.
STEM is an important focus at our school this year.
The integration of STEM into our curriculum helps to engage students in their learning. Students are excited and motivated to learn when they are having fun!
