This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a second grade teacher wanting to instill a love of reading in all of my students. I am hoping to give my students the opportunity to love reading by having a bigger classroom library with multiple reading levels as well as giving my students the opportunity to read books while using technology. I believe that the technology will turn reading fun and therefore my students will want to read more often to include both school and at home as well as with a group and independent.

My Project

My students really enjoy working on computers and using different forms of technology. I am hoping to help my students increase their love of reading and help with many reading skills through the use of the technology. I will use the requested Amazon Fire tablets for listening to reading, self-selected reading, and allowing them to read to a partner through the use of different softwares. I also feel that the use of the technology will help improve the self esteem of my students who are reading independently below grade level as well as assisting my students who are struggling with different disabilities. We want to keep our tablets working so I am asking for protective cases for them as well.
