My Students

My students come from a small rural area. During music class students love the opportunity to play instruments. Because of large class sizes many times in demand instruments are limited.

Playing instruments will allow my students to further develop an understanding of music while giving them an experience they will remember for a lifetime.

Music is for all students. I want to give all of my students in my music classes opportunities to play various instruments during class time. This will project will help open doors to the music world for all students.

My Project

Playing and creating music allows students to developing a deeper understanding and appreciation for it. Acquiring the full set of boomwhackers and handbells will engage students further in music class. These instruments have pitch which will allow students to develop their understanding of melodies and harmonies. In addition, they will also allow all students to have a pitched instrument during classroom activities. Finally, these instruments will give students unique timbres to work with for composition exercises.

Creating, performing, and experiencing music using instruments allows students to have a positive experience that they will cherish forever.

Using pitched instruments can allow every child to have a chance at discovering the elements of melody and harmony during music class. Discovering the joys of music will allow students to experience human nature and beauty and will help them to spread joy and kindness throughout the rest of the school and the world.
