(Instrument) Case by Case Basis

Help me give my students a sense of pride and protection with new cases for their flutes and clarinets to protect their horns as many of them have been using cases that are very old and worn out.

My Project

For many years, our band members who play flute and clarinet have not had the best cases to protect their instruments. The students will utilize new cases for flute and clarinet to not only protect their cases but also give them a renewed sense of confidence and pride in themselves around campus. These band accessories are absolutely vital to the students' self-esteem as while their instruments are in good playing condition, their cases have seen much better days due to the decades of wear and tear that have been passed down from generation to generation and many of the cases are falling apart or hanging on by a thread. These cases will also protect the horns from accidentally dropping due to falling apart from our old, deteriorated cases. The materials will help us when we present concerts for the school, the surrounding community, and at regional events outside of school. Both sections serves as a vital part of the band program as there are so many of them, and each individual can make a real contribution to the program for years to come.

After the students perform in concert, they share their experiences with younger students (elementary) in hopes of encouraging them to participate in their music program as well as older students (high school) through mentoring as they strive to one day become members of a high school band program, too!

For years, the students have been able to provide meaningful service with limited resources. This is their chance to establish new, greater standards in their musical outreach.
