As a title 1 school it is very difficult to get funds for aesthetics of a classroom. So you can only imagine the looks I would get if I asked for mousepads and headphones for a classroom. One of my goals as a CTE (Career and Technical Education) teacher is to provide an atmosphere as close as possible to the real world. This includes work environment and comfort while working towards a goal. \r\n\r\nIn our classroom, we have a lot of videos that students watch to learn a new lesson or to guide them through different projects. Students have different skill abilities which means that students will be on different parts of videos at different times. The distraction of someone else's video can be hard for some students. Headphones are not that accessible to all students to purchase and so I thought to purchase durable and cost effective ones. With your generosity I was able to accomplish this goal.\r\n\r\nAs we know desktop computers don't come with mousepad/tracks, they require physical mice. With this comes maintenance and wear and tear. The most preventable is the cleanliness of mouse. I had purchase some mousepad that were $3 and they got destroyed within a year. I needed more durable ones. Once again out of my school's reach and my own reach. I decided to ask you fine people. And you came through again. Now my students mouse usage is seamless and their art and 3D designs are easier to do.\r\n\r\nI would like to give my heartfelt gratitude, not just from myself, but from the 180 students I see on a yearly basis. Hopefully, while in my class the students find a passion for technology which will lead them to be successful in life. \r\n\r\nWho knows, we could have the next tech millionaire/billionaire using the products you generously donated for to purchase.\r\n\r\nThank you again.","fullyFundedDate":1777220792499,"projectUrl":"project/digital-workstation-enhancement-project/10062865/","projectTitle":"Digital Workstation Enhancement Project","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Sweeney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9062756_orig.png?crop=252,252,x0,y12&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741186613392","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sweeneys-tech"},{"teacherId":10301735,"projectId":9793170,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredible generosity!\r\nMy students have now access to headphones, copy papers, laptop, and comfy seats that have made a meaningful difference in our daily teaching and learning. \r\nThe headphones are very useful in doing their i-Ready lessons because they provide clear audio and allow them to have a better concentration on the questions. \r\nThe laptop helps students create presentations gor group work, and I use it to create engaging lessons and activities. \r\nThe copy papers you provided is used daily, especially for vocabulary instruction and illustration activities.\r\nThe comfy seats are also used as reward for students who consistently complete their work on time and display best behavior. \r\nEverything you gave for our class project is helpful, and we are so grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1769177781315,"projectUrl":"project/ready-to-learn/9793170/","projectTitle":"Ready to Learn!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nara","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10301735"},{"teacherId":1293358,"projectId":9434059,"letterContent":"Thank you so very much for your donation of new woodwind accessories for our band program. All of them are using school-rented instruments with no way to clean out other than paper towels and q-tips and their desire to clean out their horns regularly has improved tremendously from the beginning of the school year. It's a phenomenal feeling to have our students have renewed pride and confidence walking around campus knowing that their instruments are now in much cleaner shape as those horns been passed down from generation to generation for the past 25 years. I know that as an educator, I refuse to have our students mocked and ridiculed just because we don't have the proper equipment to protect our instruments. It brings me tremendous joy and satisfaction seeing and hearing their continuous improvement as we all work together to continue to build a band program back to prominence. In time, their skills will improve to the point that when they enter high school, they'll have an even greater desire to use more professional-level equipment to play more challenging band literature. \r\n\r\nWhen the students found out about the new cleaning equipment for flutes, clarinets, and saxes, they were absolutely elated. We created a small ceremony where each of them received their new cleaning clothes and each band class gave the woodwind sections applause for their new music accessories. Some weren't into practicing as much before, but now? They can't wait to come to class and after school to play and work on their skills. I have seen them discover renewed focus and determination to play at their absolute best, all thanks to now being able to clean and care for their horns.\r\n\r\nOnce again, the our Band Program thanks you so very much for all that you've done for us and we look forward to making better music now and in the future.\"","fullyFundedDate":1755720707464,"projectUrl":"project/winning-with-woodwinds/9434059/","projectTitle":"Winning With Woodwinds","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Curtis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1293358_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1473530617726","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/bairmsband"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_45178","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":641,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":66,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":22,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"12.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":64.7,"schoolId":45178,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bair Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bair Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/broward-county-public-schools/bair-middle-school/45178"}
