This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is 17 bright, curious, energetic and thriving 1st Graders! Each day they enter my classroom excited to discover & learn something new. Many of my students come from challenging, at-risk environments.
Their ability to learn and succeed isn't hindered by their circumstances!
Some may walk a mile to catch the bus, and others may walk that far to school. Their determination and resilience inspires me everyday. They leave their challenges outside and work hard to meet their goals. They are the greatest group of first graders, ever!
My Project
This year, we are focusing on providing tangible resources to increase and enhance students' learning experiences. By having ink for my classroom printer, I will be able to print resources instantly, to provide my students with their own tangible resources. We have a copy limit on our school copiers, so this limits the amount of resources we can provide our students. By having the black and colored ink, the resources I print will be more authentic and realistic.
The donations for this project will allow my students to access instant printed resources.
This will directly impact and enhance their learning on a daily basis.
By providing them with relevant and tangible resources, they will be motivated and equipped with the necessary tools to be successful, academically. Not only will this be a major plus for the students, but it will also be a weight off of my shoulders. This will allow me to plan the most engaging and creative lessons, because I'll have access to print the needed resources.
