My Project

I am currently a K-5 STEM teacher who is transitioning into a second grade classroom in the upcoming school year. My students will be coming to me with a variety of reading levels and interests and I hope to build a classroom library that will support every reading level and inspire my students to develop a lifelong love of reading. By having a wide variety of texts available in the classroom library, I hope to give my students the opportunity to try new genres and learn about new topics while becoming more proficient readers. Further, these books will not just be used in the classroom, but will be available for students to “check out” and keep with them to take home to practice with their families. With the right resources in their hands, I believe my students will thrive as readers both in and out of the classroom.
