I am a kindergarten teacher who teaches 22 curious, enthusiastic students. My students represent a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. My school gets very little funding from the district, and almost everything for our classroom is funded by kind parents, generous donors, and me.
My amazing students love learning!
They enjoy participating in science, math, writing, reading, engineering, and art activities because they have fun and feel successful. When activities are engaging, hands-on, and meaningful, my students get captivated in learning and everybody wins.
My Project
My students enjoy building engineering projects and participating in science experiments. These hands-on activities are crucial in their learning, and when they are paired with quality literature, it makes learning even more valuable. The books in this project both reinforce STEM concepts as well as the traits and qualities of scientists and engineers.
There are so many wonderful books about children who have the same inspiration and curiosity as my students.
I want to encourage these qualities in my students, and these books will do just that. When my students are able to relate to the characters and see how fun it can be to be a scientist, engineer, or mathematician, it is motivating. They will continue asking questions and making the world a better place.
