Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These books will invigorate my passionate readers. I teach BIPOC and LGBTQ+ students in a low-income city. These students are passionate about making the world a better, safer place for themselves and their families and truly believe in fighting for the social justice causes they believe in.

By encouraging students to read books by BIPOC authors and helping them engage with readers across genres, I hope to continue to inspire them to read more, write more, and use those critical thinking skills to make a difference in the world around them.

I strive to provide my readers with books that inspire, engage, and connect to their experiences. These students are located in a classroom very far from the library and have begun tearing through books and wanting regular access to more books in my library; my goal is to create a library so rich and diverse that they are never lacking a fantastic book to read.
