My Students

Being a student in our fast-paced and quickly changing world can be challenging. The students that come in my classroom are eager to learn and embrace new challenges regardless of challenges that they may face.

Students in my classroom defy the odds on a daily basis, taking charge of their learning and their futures to be the best they can be.

These students deserve the best resources that we can provide to allow them to succeed and embrace their futures.

My Project

I am requesting a group of read alouds for my students that center around the theme of determination. Students in low income schools often fail to realize the amazing potential they each carry inside of them. Students are afraid to "dream big" because their circumstances seem bleak and impossible to overcome. Students should be taught at an early age of their amazing potential, regardless of circumstances, and their ability to achieve their goals and dreams.

This carefully chosen group of read alouds will teach students through many real-life stories that regardless of their circumstances, dreams can be achieved.

Often time students, especially female students, believe their circumstances determine what their goals in life will be. As many young girls look around them, they often don't realize their true and full potential. many of these books are about amazing women in our history that attained their goals and wouldn't let their circumstances stand in their way.
