Help me give my students beginning chapter books and hands-on, interactive math, literacy, and science activities to inspire a love of learning in kindergarten.
Welcome to our kindergarten classroom! We are an energetic group of students who love to explore new ideas and concepts. We are so excited to be in a classroom with other children our own age! We spend our days working in teams to learn and grow together.
In our class, we work together to have fun, make mistakes, and learn!
We come from diverse backgrounds, both ethnically and socio-economically, with a wide range of world experiences. Our new normal in the classroom is exciting and challenging! It is wonderful to be part of a community of learners!
My Project
Kindergarten is a springboard for learning. What we do here sets the stage for students' attitude toward school for the rest of their educational career. It is here where we inspire students to strive for greatness. To do this, we use many interactive strategies, including using engaging learning games and stories that inspire students to read more. Each year, I introduce my students to chapter books through a read aloud, tantalizing them to reach further.
Donations to this project will help advance reading and math skills, allowing students to interact with stories and engage in imagination in a way that they never knew was possible.
Students will be able to interact with paper books, in 3-D, using the AR-pedia software to bring the books to life. They will be able to interact with the characters of the books as they read the stories. Plugo will help them advance their reading, spelling, and math skills. Science and engineering become second nature as they build with gears and programs with Plugo. At the end of the day, they get life lessons from Roscoe Riley as he learns to navigate the world of elementary school. Nothing is more inspiring than a kindergarten student asking to read chapter books and giving them the tools to get there.
