All of our students have unique life experiences that enrich the diversity of our school. Many of our students come from immigrant families and low-income backgrounds. Despite the challenges that they may face in and out of the classroom, our forty-two third graders come to school each day ready to take on any task.
Our students have positivity and confidence, which prepares them for the demands they face on a daily basis.
They have a "can-do" attitude and are not afraid of a challenge. In fact, they welcome a challenge! Our students are also enthusiastic and curious about the world that surrounds them. They are constantly looking for opportunities to engage with one another. At any given moment, you can find them extending a helping hand, learning together, or sharing in the enjoyment of a simple pleasure. It is a delight to be in the presence of our students!
My Project
During the NatureBridge overnight, the students will be provided with opportunities to be immersed in nature, free to explore and investigate the wonders of the world that surrounds them. The students will make observations about the local habitat, hike through the headlands, use microscopes to study organisms, and examine marine life up close, all the while building a sense of community.
Nothing can replicate the genuine learning that takes place through real-life, hands-on experiences.
Our students will learn about the history and unique features of the local habitat. They will also discover how ecosystems are delicately interconnected in amazing ways. Through their exploration, our students will learn the crucial role people play in protecting our environment and will walk away with a sense of responsibility to protect nature and to inspire others to do the same.
