This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In my opinion, by having our students listen to stories that may exhibit behaviors that require correction, we can help them develop greater compassion for others. I work as a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) teacher in a dual classroom. My belief is that by listening to stories that emphasize compassion and then writing notes to their peers at the writing center, kids will gain an understanding of how others see the world. Through note-writing to their friends and having a place to write, students will continue learning how to lessen suffering through the eyes of another person.
To hold all the wonderful supplies this project calls for, like stationery, stencils, gel pens, and paper, we therefore need a table.
The gel pads will be used to demonstrate in a small group setting what might be included in a note of compassion.
My project's success will be determined by the favorable connections they make over the course of the year. Being able to observe how the students will support one another through writing. Students will also learn via this project how there are many different ways we may express our love and concern for people.
