My Students

My students are 16 wonderful special needs scholars ranging from fourth through fifth grade. Many of our students are economically disadvantaged. My students are appreciative and eager to learn new ideas and objectives because they love a challenge.

Each child in my classroom has different learning styles, but they all love technology and books.

They want to succeed in life! We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, collaborative group work, and different learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met. They enjoy having many resources to access individualized explicit instruction in math, science, and reading language arts.

My Project

My scholars have a great interest and desire for knowledge of careers in STEM. Gaming is one hobby that my students all have in common. I want them to imagine turning that passion into their dream job!

The career books,How to Become a Video Game Artist and Start Your Video Game Career will introduce kids to the history of computers, general computer-based vocabulary, and even some of the lesser-known careers involving computers that they could pursue one day.

Graphic novels can help improve reading skills. The books are visually engaging and can assist me in meeting their curriculum standards. The medium can be used to get them interested in STEM careers.

There are so many career paths in gaming, from becoming a programmer or designer to working in user experience (UX). They could even start setting goals to own a gaming company.

The gaming computer can be used for more than gaming and is likely better than some generic desktop/laptop it can be used for the following: Homework, Programming, Video Editing, Audio Editing. PC Gamers can be professional with the gaming industry evolving so rapidly, it comes as no surprise that it’s completely mainstream. Especially with smartphones these days, almost everyone is a gamer, even if they might not so good at it.

The Playstation 4 video games offer advantages as well, It can help develop hand-eye coordination, devise strategies, among other skills. Or, your child could also get so good at it they learn to code and design games. The headphones and microphone is for noise cancelation.

Gaming is in high demand which means the workforce is growing and changing, especially in the last five years. Why not encourage children to make their Dream Job A Reality!
