My school serves 250 PreK-5th graders. The school is in a high poverty area. The majority of the students come from at-risk families and homes. All students at my school receive free lunch. My school is a safe place for students. They look forward to coming to school each day.
My students are curious, energetic, fun, kind, and hard-working.
They love interacting and collaborating. Teachers and staff at my school are always looking for ways to inspire, motivate, and engage all students.
Art gives us the opportunity to learn how to problem solve and think differently. Famous artists from the past and present are great examples of how new ideas can be presented to our world visually.
Through these books students can discover amazing painters, sculptors, and other artists who have come before them and moved the world.
These books will not only serve as visual examples of the artists' work; they also discuss the artists' life and the ideas behind their artwork that spoke to viewers. The variety of books will also give the students examples of many different types of artists from different time periods, and give students the opportunity to find their favorite.
