Inspiration Motivation

Help me give my students books, ball chairs, robots, and art supplies to use while exploring STEM concepts.

My Students

My students are 21st century learners who are constantly seeking knowledge. They are growing up in a fast paced informational world. Most of their day is spent inside a classroom in a sedentary way. When they are given opportunities to move around and stimulate their brain, they get energized and excited about the things they still have to learn. My students are looking for ways to increase their activity level within the classroom setting. They asked for different chairs that would help them incorporate more movement throughout the day.

My Project

My students need resources that will help inspire and motivate their learning. They will be starting independent research projects soon and the books I am requesting will be used to spark interest in different topics. Monsters Under Bridges and Iggy Peck Architect will be used to spark interest in structural engineering projects. Will We Miss Them? and What Do You Do With a Tail Like This? will be used to spark interest in service learning projects about endangered animals. Students will be able to explore the topics that interest them, and design individualized projects to showcase and share their learning with others

My students need STEM based resources to provide engaging learning experiences.

The LEGO WeDo sets will allow them to explore building and coding with fun robots. Students can use the step by step lessons to learn the basics of building robots. They can explore block coding to help make the robots perform different tasks. Students can also extend their learning by creating their own robot designs and coding challenges.
