I teach in a Title I School, in North Carolina, and many of my students are at-risk of academic failure. This is many of my students' first time in a school setting. The early learners in my class are more interested in the process of discovering and manipulating materials than the final products of their experiments.
Learning experiences are meaningful and relevant for every child and reflect his or her developmental, cultural, and individual circumstances.
My students love to move and be active. However, because of recent budget cuts, we are unable to purchase additional resources such as the ones requested.
I want to offer my students many different kinds of activities for outdoor and indoor active play. Some of my students have to be encouraged students to get active in an appropriate way. Our kids must develop gross motor skills. The Knock Down! Number Challenge with beanbags, Float & Find Alphabet Bubbles, and I Can Build It! Architecture Sets will also teach them mathematical, alphabetical, and spatial concepts they need to learn through play.
We are trying to fight childhood obesity one day at a time.
Please give our students the kind of play that city kids don’t usually get. Some of my students just stand around, bored during recess. They spend a lot of time on tablets and video games at home. Preschool is the time students must learn to play. It is important that when they are at school, they have indoors and outdoors activities to promote good health!
