This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our International School is committed to providing all students with academically rigorous experiences that include world language and a global perspective. STEAM (STEM with the arts infused) is an important part of our students’ daily work, ensuring they develop the 21st century skills that are needed to be successful in school and careers.

In our school’s Maker Space, our 400 students have access to technology and a variety of materials that allow them to develop their ideas and work with classmates to solve problems.

Our school is an inner city, low income school. Our parents want the best for their children and put their trust in the teachers to educate their children.

My students deserve to have access to high level technology, that helps them develop skills and creativity. Our Maker Space provides my students with a space full of technology and room to create, and bring their ideas to life!

My Project

My students need headphones and keyboards that work so they can use our computers to write code, illustrate books, present science experiments and complete math projects. Right now our keyboards have been worn out by the 400 students using them everyday for years. Keyboarding efficiently is compromised when many of the keys don't work!

"I can't hear the directions!" my students tell me and when we test the headphones we find out they are shorting out and only working intermittently.

This make following directions very difficult!

Having new headphones and keyboards will increase the success of my students in all their STEAM (STEM with the Arts infused) work, particularly when taking keyboard proficiency assessments and listening to precise directions to program a robot.
